The importance of quality education in every society cannot be over-emphasised as development thrives on literacy.
JAP-F scholarship awards to students in Nursery, Primary and secondary schools from various host communities Ikara local government. The move, hailed by various stakeholders as a major boost for educational empowerment in the host communities, is a win-win situation for everyone concerned.
JAP-F believes that education is the bedrock of development and has continued to improve on the country’s educational system through the award of scholarships and provision of books to students in its host communities.
To bridge the gap in Nigeria’s education sector and allow it contribute effectively to economic development, JAP-F took up a proactive measure by embarking on an integrated tripartite approach to boost quality of education in the school around its host communities.
This approach includes a scholarship programme for students, a Train-The-Trainers Capacity Building Initiative for teachers and school infrastructural projects to improve school structure.
According to the Program coordinator, JAP-F, Tahiru Jafaru, the JAP-F believes that education is the passport to the future and that an investment in knowledge yields the greatest dividends for humanity.
JAP Foundation, over decades, had supported the Nigerian educational sector by instituting scholarship award programmes. This is part of the foundation’s education intervention initiative for indigenous students of host communities.
Over the year, we executed a pilot of the scholarship programme where primary and secondary school students from host communities here in Kaduna were awarded.
“As JAP-F continues to improve the quality of education, we cannot but acknowledge the efforts that our beneficiaries have put into their academic studies, the foundation had also donated classrooms desk to serve the Paki Premier Academy and also provision of teaching materials and a conducive environment.
The idea of establishing Paki Premier Academy came into the vision of promoting education and other social and economic development in Paki and environs. The ground breaking ceremony of the school was officially done by late Royal Highness the Emir of Zazzau, Alhaji Dr. Shehu Idris CFR, on 3rd December, 1996, before registration of the JAP Foundation.
The school was incorporated in 1997 as Madarasatuth Thaqafatil Islamiyyah Paki with 38 students.
The permanent structure was commissioned on 5th December, 1999 by His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Mohammed Makarfi, the Executive Governor of Kaduna State, represented by the Honourable Commissioner of Education, Dr. Bashir Balarabe Jaji.
In 2003, the school was upgraded to widen its scope, to a comprehensive centre of learning, comprising of Western Education Section from Nursery to Secondary School, alongside Arabic and Islamic Section.
The name of the school was changed to Paki Premier Academy and on 15th December, 2019, the then Board of Trustees was dissolved and new members were inaugurated.
The objective of the school is to breed vibrant youths with sound knowledge of both Islamic and western education, as a key to successful life. The school has achieved tremendous progress, by educating pupils at their tender age, which has so far recorded large number of university graduates.
In addition to the existing school structure, hosting Nursery/Primary students, JAP-F has built a befitting modern Secondary school structure with boarding facilities, well equipped science laboratory, functional library.
Paki Premier Academy has obtained examination center for West Africa Examination Council (WAEC), National Examination Council (NECO) and the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) as well as Basic Arabic and Islamic Certificate Examination (BAICE) for the Junior and Senior Secondary School.
The school empowers students on competency, confidence building and motivation to envision self-denial goal, as well as understand the choices they have. Also, it is building social network and relationship of trust with the host and neighboring communities.
Provision of School Facilities and Scholarship
JAP-F procured new school desks/chairs for School classes, in its effort to enhance academic performance of students and improve the conducive learning environment of Paki Premier Academy.
JAP-F has been sponsoring a lot of pupils at both Islamic and Western education schools who are less privileged but academically sound. The Foundation has been promoting girl-child education by providing additional support to those with outstanding performance.

Project Activities
Education (scholarships) - Using a variety of educational approaches to build knowledge, skills, and self-confidence. The top priority of JAP-F, providing funds for school fees, books and uniforms. The level of scholarship support is decided after certain selection criteria are met for each beneficiary students of basic school age are favored to maximize long-term impact. The progress of each student, including grades and attendance are regularly evaluated.
