Short Bio-data of Kauran Zazzau
Born in the quite town of Paki in Kaduna State in 1947, Alhaji Ja’afaru Aliyu Paki attended Paki Junior Primary School (1955-1958) from where he proceeded to Government Craft School, Soba (now Government Technical School) in 1959, and graduated in 1962. Between 1962 and 1963, he attended Technical Institute, Kaduna. In 1963, he continued his education at Government Technical College, Kano, completing his course in 1966. Alhaji Paki also attended University of London, Ontario, Canada where he earned a Diploma in Marketing Management in 1980.
Alhaji Ja’afaru Aliyu Paki is widely travelled. In the course of his official duties, the Kaduna State born oil products marketing guru has traversed many African countries, Europe, the Americas and the Far East.
A Peep of From Bottom to Peak
At the peak of his marketing career, which commenced with Mobil Oil Nigeria Limited as Operations Trainee in 1966, then moved to Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) in 1978. Alhaji Ja’afaru Aliyu Paki moved to Unipetrol on secondment by NNPC where he grew through the ranks and earned the merit to sit on the Board as Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Unipetrol, a major petroleum marketing company in Nigeria, now Oando. After successful privatization of Unipetrol in 2001 he returned to NNPC and thereafter he retired in 2002.
Service to the Nation
Alhaji Paki’s service to the nation extended to the state and Local Levels, as he served his home state, Kaduna State as Director, Ikara Food Processing Company.
On November 3, 2003 President Olusegun Obasanjo appointed Alhaji Paki as his Special Assistant on Petroleum Matters. A position he held up to the year 2007.
Alhaji Paki is a recipient of many Awards/Honors as a result of his meritorious service to his former employers and other organizations which rightfully recognized his enormous contributions to the society.
Alhaji Ja’afaru Aliyu Paki is happily married with children.
